Looking for an engaging Social Studies activity? Look no further! This no-prep resource is perfect to have on hand during those unexpected moments when you need a quick and engaging activity for your students.
My favorite subject is Social Studies. I just love everything to do with it! My passion for travel also ties into my love for history. I enjoy creating resources to help make Social Studies more engaging for upper elementary and middle school students.
About this Resource
I am excited to share this activity with you! It covers facts about some of America’s Founding Fathers and Mothers: John and Abigail Adams, Thomas Jefferson, James and Dolley Madison, John Jay, George and Martha Washington, Alexander Hamilton, and Benjamin Franklin.
It provides a fun, relaxing way for students to cover important historical facts. Also, it recently received a big update. Now, it includes passages and two different versions of the activity. Perfect to differentiate to meet the needs of your students.
Students are first provided a reading passage and a coloring page. The coloring page contains facts found in the passage, and then the students will color according to the topic. You can also then have them underline text evidence in the passage using the correct color- that is always a skill that need’s practice!
Use this printable activity for early finishers, partners, centers/stations, test prep, review, or a great sub activity! Students could conduct research to learn more about the people, or you could use this at the end of a unit to see what your students have learned.
