If you are a fan of podcasts, did you know there are many podcasts for teachers available? More are popping up all the time, but these are a few of my favorites.
Do you have a long commute to school? Mine is about 30 minutes each way, and I honestly don’t mind it at all because it gives me time to relax on the way there and destress on the way home.
I used to spend my commute listening to the radio, and sometimes I still do, but most days I’m listening to a podcast. I love shows with long episodes that I can binge all at once on a road trip (Serial, Dirty John, Dr. Death, etc.), but for my morning commute, I prefer shows with shorter episodes and practical tips, advice, or thought-provoking topics related to education.
Two of my favorite podcasts for teachers are Truth for Teachers with Angela Watson and Cult of Pedagogy with Jennifer Gonzalez. I had the opportunity to attend Angela and Jennifer’s session at the Teachers Pay Teachers conference last year, and it was so surreal to get to see them in person! They are both so inspiring, and I recommend their podcasts to all of my teacher friends.
These podcasts are truly like little bite-sized pieces of professional development that don’t require any extra time. You’re already in the car, so why not listen to something that could uplift and inspire you?

Another favorite that I can’t get enough of is The Popcast with Knox and Jamie. Not teaching related, but if you love pop culture at all you HAVE to check it out!
How long is your commute? Do you have a favorite podcast you listen to? Leave a comment and let me know! I’m always looking for new ones.
